Katrina is experienced in all aspects of communications and media, from content creation (print and digital) to marketing and PR,
having worked internationally across a wide array of sectors including finance, entertainment, politics, education and the third sector.
She has spent the past few years as freelance writer and editor in the UK, Canada and the US, after authoring Bird Eat Bird,
which won the 2011 Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best First Book. She was later story editor for the BBC One medical drama series Holby City.
Katrina has also worked in PR marketing and communications including on the long running Canadian TV drama series Cold Squad (Atlantis/CTV),
for international NGOs including Action Contre Le Faim and the Alzheimer’s Society, and she was also the first Online Writer in Residence for
Commonwealth Writers (from 2011-12) when they rebranded and relaunched their website. Katrina began her professional career as an in-house writer,
researcher and editor at Best Magazine (Hearst Magazines), a bestselling women’s weekly magazine in London. She has working French, having previously lived and worked in Montreal for over a decade.
